W2 Contract Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Analyst to support an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) within a large, complex organization. This role will help oversee the governance and performance of projects and programs throughout their lifecycle, ensuring initiatives remain aligned with organizational strategy, financial objectives, schedules, and established governance standards. The hiring team is particularly interested in candidates with construction and/or engineering project experience who understand enterprise governance processes and are comfortable communicating with stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization. Key Responsibilities Support the progression of projects and programs from initiation through closeout while ensuring alignment with investment strategies, financial targets, and expected benefits. Guide project and program teams through the development of comprehensive business cases. Ensure projects adhere to established portfolio and project governance standards, policies, and procedures. Help project and program teams navigate enterprise governance processes while promoting consistent methodologies and communication. Prepare portfolio-level analysis and reporting related to financial controls, resource utilization, risk, change management, benefits, and unplanned work. Compare planned performance against actual and forecasted results and evaluate potential impacts on the broader portfolio. Review projects or programs that are challenged or falling out of alignment with strategic, financial, cost, or schedule objectives. Develop recommendations regarding whether initiatives should continue, be modified, placed on hold, or discontinued. Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and graphs illustrating cost and schedule performance, trends, milestone movement, delays, and other key indicators. Identify issues, conflicts, schedule slippage, accelerations, and changes that could impact portfolio performance. Partner with engineers, project managers, program managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders. Support continuous improvement efforts to ensure portfolio and project-control reporting remains accurate, relevant, and useful. Qualifications 5-10 years of relevant professional experience. Construction and/or engineering project experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of project, program, and portfolio management methodologies . Experience working within structured enterprise governance frameworks . Ability to understand technical and engineering-related issues at a high level and communicate effectively with technical specialists. Experience with project financials, cost and schedule reporting, forecasting, risk, resource utilization, and performance analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet firm deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating and influencing stakeholders ranging from individual engineers and project managers to senior business leaders. Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with performance evaluation and change management principles. Technical Skills Microsoft Excel Power BI PowerPoint Microsoft Word Outlook SharePoint experience highly preferred Education Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Additional Requirements Candidates must be local to the Tri-State area and able to work onsite in White Plains a minimum of three days per week.
