Typically works with a collection of investments called a portfolio, though can also advise clients about individual investments. Studies trends that impact investments and writes reports regarding economic and business changes and activities that affect the value of investments. Can also be involved in the selling of investments, such as stocks. Works mainly in investment firms, though can also be employed in lending institutions, corporate finance departments, banks or insurance companies.
Portfolio Operations Analyst We are currently seeking candidates for a Portfolio Operations Analyst opportunity with a leading financial services firm located in Braintree, MA. The Portfolio Operations Analyst will support day-to-day investment operations, including securities and transaction reconciliation, exception resolution, account activity, and operational reporting. The ideal candidate will have 2-4+ years of experience within investment operations, fund accounting, custody, asset servicing, securities operations, or a related financial services environment. This is a contract role paying between $33-$37/hour, depending on experience. This role supports a hybrid work model, consisting of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote per week. Candidates must be located in the Greater Braintree, MA area and willing to work onsite three days per week in Braintree, MA.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily reconciliation of securities positions, transactions, cash activity, and other portfolio data. Research discrepancies and resolve outstanding breaks with internal teams and external counterparties. Support accurate processing of investment transactions, settlements, fund activity, and account updates. Review account and portfolio information for accuracy and escalate unresolved issues as needed. Prepare recurring and ad hoc operational reports. Collaborate with fund accounting, custody, investment operations, and other teams to resolve account inquiries. Monitor outstanding items and help ensure time-sensitive issues are resolved within required deadlines. Assist with account maintenance, data-quality reviews, and process improvement initiatives. Support the setup and maintenance of new accounts and ensure required operational data is accurately recorded. Work with service providers, custodians, and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate and timely investment information. Provide additional support as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant professional experience. 2-4+ years of experience in investment operations, fund accounting, custody, asset servicing, securities operations, or portfolio operations. Experience with financial or investment-related reconciliations and discrepancy resolution. Familiarity with securities transactions, trade processing, settlements, or fund activity. Experience within a custodian bank, fund administrator, asset manager, or similar financial services organization preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with financial data. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
