Job Description

Provides a variety of skilled secretarial and receptionist duties in support of the assigned department in addition to performing some financial analysis for the Chair and the DA (Departmental Administrator) as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides secretarial support including typing, composing and proofreading, and transcribing correspondence. Obtains journal articles as needed. Answers telephone, screens calls, refers callers/visitors to appropriate individuals. Processes incoming and outgoing mail. Opens, sorts, and prioritizes correspondence. Makes copies as needed. Maintains Outlook calendar for meetings, and makes travel arrangements for national meetings. Assists with the preparation of materials, agendas, notes and handouts, including help to organize faculty retreats under the direction of the chair and various faculty. Assists with itineraries and on-site support for both Visiting Professors and faculty and trainee candidates. Maintains files and equipment. Order office supplies. Assists other staff as requested. Participates in educational activities and programs. Serves as fellowship coordinator for two small fellowships, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Helps the Fellowship Program Directors closely follow the RRC requirements for each fellowship to ensure no violations and continued accreditation. Supports the physician-fellows. Performs financial analyses for individual faculty and the department as a whole at the discretion of the chair or DA as needed. Supports all faculty in obtaining billing and coding information as needed/ requested. Must be interested, attentive and wanting to help faculty in the department achieve the highest level possible. Performs other duties as assigned or requested
EDUCATION
College degree required. Masters in Health Sciences, Health Informatics, MHA or MBA preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Two to three years of administrative/secretary experience in a health care setting preferred. Must be polished, professional, articulate, sharp, industrious, a team player and someone who likes to show initiative.
