Office of Financial Solvency/Financial Examinations/Analysis or Field The Louisiana Department of Insurance is seeking a motivated and analytical Compliance Examiner 1 to help protect the financial stability of Louisiana's insurance and financial service industries. In this role, you'll conduct in-depth financial examinations, review regulatory filings, and work directly with industry professionals to ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, banking, compliance management, financial operations, or insurance; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus nine semester hours in accounting and an additional fifteen semester hours in accounting, economics, finance, business law, insurance, statistics, financial analysis, or money and banking; OR A bachelor's degree with nine semester hours in accounting and an additional fifteen semester hours in accounting, economics, finance, business law, insurance, statistics, financial analysis, or money and banking; OR A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business or public administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Financial Examiner (CFE), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. As a Compliance Examiner 1 in the Office of Financial Solvency, you will/may: Review financial and operational records from banks, credit unions, insurance companies, and other financial service providers to help ensure they follow state and federal regulations. Analyze financial information to confirm the accuracy of reported assets, liabilities, and equity, helping institutions maintain sound financial practices. Review investment portfolios, loans, real estate holdings, and other financial activities to verify compliance and identify potential areas of concern. Evaluate financial statements and related documentation to ensure information is accurate, complete, and consistent with accounting standards. Prepare clear and organized reports that summarize findings and highlight key areas such as liquidity, asset concentrations, and overall financial stability. Work directly with company representatives and management to request information, clarify details, and discuss examination results. Assist experienced examiners during field or desk reviews and occasionally lead smaller examination assignments under supervision. Participate in professional development and complete the introductory Compliance Examiner School to build foundational skills in examination and analysis.Position-Specific Details:

The Office of Financial Solvency's primary mission is to monitor the financial health of regulated entities through statutorily mandated filed examinations and financial analyses and to provide actuarial analysis of rate filings, adequacy of insurers' reserves, and insurance legislation.Career Growth Opportunity:
Advancement in this role may involve earning professional designations through the Society of Financial Examiners (SOFE), such as the Accredited Financial Examiner (AFE) and Certified Financial Examiner (CFE). Each designation involves passing four exams and meeting SOFE's work experience requirements (two years for the AFE, three years for the CFE). These certifications can only be awarded upon application to SOFE and are a key step toward promotion to the next level.How To Apply:
