Introduction The Office of Financial Regulation in the Maryland Department of Labor is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Financial Depository Examiner Supervisor. A financial depository examiner supervisor is the supervisory level of financial examination work. Employees in this classification supervise the examination of accounts, records, consumer transactions, and business practices of depository financial institutions (i.e., state-chartered banks, trust companies, and credit unions) primarily located at the business' headquarters.\r\n\r\n GRADE 24\r\n

Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201\r\n Main Purpose of Job A Financial Depository Examiner Supervisor is the supervisory level of financial depository examination work, specifically in information technology. Examiners in this classification supervise examiners examining information technology programs of banks, credit unions, and trust companies for safety and soundness and compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations to protect the general public and promote integrity and confidence in the financial industries regulated by the agency. Examiners in this classification supervise lower-level financial depository examiners. A financial depository examiner supervisor is a field examiner position that may, in management's discretion, work remotely in accordance with the MD DOL and agency's telework policies.\r\nPOSITION DUTIES
Duties of this position include but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A financial depository examiner supervisor is responsible for examining the information technology programs of state-chartered banks, trust companies, and credit unions. In doing so, they assess and evaluate an institution's information technology infrastructure, including audit, information technology management, support and delivery, and development and acquisition, as well as management information systems, cybersecurity, risk management practices, and compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. An examiner supervisor is also responsible for assigning appropriate examination ratings, supporting and documenting findings, determining conclusions, and providing recommendations and/or corrective actions.�Examiner supervisors are to review, evaluate, assess, and assign a formal rating to the information technology components reviewed and translate those findings into written comments with recommendations and/or corrective actions.�Examiner supervisors prepare the Information Technology and Operating Risk Assessment section for inclusion in the Report of Examination, detailing the examination ratings, findings, conclusions, and recommendations.�\r\n Examiners at this level are expected to be assigned to conduct the assessment and evaluation of the information technology programs on examinations of large state-chartered financial institutions with complex issues, critical problems, and deficiencies and weaknesses; that are under an enforcement action; and/or are part of multi-bank holding companies, and to monitor compliance with policies and procedures, enforcement�actions, and applicable federal and state laws, rules, and�regulations. In addition, examiners at this level are assigned�complex and problem institutions to monitor and are responsible for reviewing quarterly data provided by the institution to�determine compliance with enforcement actions.�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
�Nine years of experience examining the accounts, records, and�business practices of depository financial institutions or in examination, managerial, or professional accounting or auditing work.\r\nNotes:
\r\n1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by a total of 24 credit hours in business administration, finance, economics, law or accounting and five years of experience examining the accounts, records, and business practices of depository financial institutions or in examination, managerial, or professional accounting or auditing work for the required experience. These credit hours must include a minimum of 6 credit hours in either accounting or auditing.\r\n2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a master's degree in business administration or accounting from an accredited college or university�for one year of the required experience.\r\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in logistics specialist�classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the financial management or auditing fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\nApplications that meet the\r\nminimum and/or selective qualifications will be referred to the hiring manager\r\nfor interview selection. Units will select those candidates most closely\r\ndemonstrating the qualifications for an interview.\r\nSELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants�who possess the following preferred qualification(s).�Include clear and specific information on your application regarding�your qualifications.\r\n\r\nDepository regulatory training/classes in information\r\ntechnology.\r\nExperience assessing IT controls, cybersecurity, and\r\ntechnology risk in depository financial institutions.\r\nExperience planning and conducting IT examinations,\r\ndocumenting findings, and preparing reports with recommendations for depository\r\nfinancial institutions.\r\n\r\nLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.\r\nSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification may be required to attend advanced formal training classes. The purpose of this training is to maintain professional, job-specific proficiency and current knowledge. Some training classes are out-of-state and may require overnight stays.\r\n\r\n\r\nAll candidates are subject to a background check against files\r\nmaintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (LABOR/DUI) to determine\r\nwhether any monies are owed toLABOR/DUI
