An Accounting Manager manages the accounting department of a company or organization. Directs the accounting staff that prepare financial statements and business activity and forecasting reports and tax filings. Monitors accounting data. Implements and manages accounting policies and procedures. Advises management with regard to finance decisions.
Verra Mobility is hiring a n Accounting Manager in the centralized accounting function . This position will report to the Assistant Controller and currently has one direct report .
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a direct report including providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure their professional development and effective performance Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of f ixed a ssets, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close processes Responsible for managing our inventory processes and completing tasks including but not limited to inventory revaluations, reviewing standard costs, and supporting the inventory counts. Manage and review analysis, reports, journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the team. Review financial statements, and provide explanations for fluctuations of accounts to senior leadership as needed Demonstrate attention to detail and effective multi-tasking Provide support to internal and external audit ors in connection with the year-end audit and quarterly reviews Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Accounting Minimum of 12 years accounting experience 7-9 years e xperience performing fixed assets and related duties Proficient with MS Excel and use of formulas Ability to thrive in a fast - paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people cross-functionally Verra Mobility Values An ideal candidate for this role naturally works in alignment with the
