The Accounting Manager will also have oversight and accountability for project progress, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected.
Responsibilities :
The following responsibilities are general guidelines and are not guidelines exhaustive list of the full scope of responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs and at management's discretion. Assist in the Month-End Closing and reporting Ensure timely payment of the company's insurance and benefits programs Manage the internal accounting database system Process and oversee business tax payments as required for all locations and comply with local, state, and federal government requirements Reconcile the Balance Sheet and designated in-house reports, such as the Work in Progress report and the Parts Inventory. Assist in preparing periodic financial statements and ensure that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. Support the Accounts Payable department with posting, bank wires, reporting, and related tasks. Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures Monitors the creation of project accounts in the accounting system Audits project-related records, including contracts and change orders Authorize access to project accounts Authorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts. Review and approve supplier invoices related to a project Review and approve time sheets for work related to a project Review and approve overhead charges to be applied to a project Review account totals related to project assets and expenses Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management Confer with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billings Report on project profitability to management Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects Support Accounts Receivable as needed by posting payments, customer creations, and collections, and responding to requests for more detail. Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers Works with the Controller to review and receive approval for the write-off of any accounts receivable billings that cannot be billed to or collected from customers Close out project accounts upon project completion Create and submit government reports and tax returns related to projects Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications Education/Additional Requirements :
