We are looking for an Accounting & HR Manager to support financial oversight and core people operations for a mission-driven organization in Monterey, California. This position blends hands-on accounting leadership with administrative and records-focused responsibilities, helping maintain accurate documentation, organized workflows, and dependable internal support. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information while contributing across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including financial record maintenance, reconciliations, and support for accurate reporting.
- Manage employee-related administrative processes such as personnel documentation, onboarding coordination, and maintenance of confidential HR files.
- Establish and maintain organized document control practices to ensure records are complete, accessible, and properly stored.
- Coordinate high-volume scanning and digital filing of financial, HR, and operational documents with close attention to accuracy and consistency.
- Compile and categorize paperwork from multiple sources to support audits, compliance reviews, and internal reporting needs.
- Monitor document retention standards and help improve processes for handling physical and electronic records.
- Partner with leadership to support budgeting, internal controls, and routine administrative operations across the organization.
- Assist with special projects that involve records cleanup, file standardization, or process documentation as needed.
