full-time The General Accounting Manager manages the accounting function to ensure timely and accurate completion of the month end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, audit preparation, and other related accounting duties. Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
Responsible for the hiring, training, performance management, and other personnel related activities. Leads, coaches and sets professional goals for the staff to align with the business needs. Ensures integrity of financial statements for Hunter Industries and Hunter L.P. to aid in management's decision-making process. Manages the month-end close process end-to-end; establish and communicate deadlines, maintain close schedules, and ensure timely recording of journal entries and account reconciliations. Manages the Fixed Asset function and related depreciation for GAAP and Tax, ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures. Coordinates all foreign accounting and ensures accurate transfers to the general ledger in US dollars. Monitors and reviews international account balances, reconciliation and financial preparation. Reviews and monitors monthly variance comments are completed and accurate to aid in monthly reporting and analysis. Prepares and reviews audit schedules and documentation in support of interim and year-end audits and international financial reviews. Manages the accruals and calculations and reviews of the quarterly and annual rebate and incentive payouts. Assesses current practices and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements through use of technology or other means. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting. Ensures compliance with financial transactions recording standards. Maintains regular collaboration with business partners across finance, operations, sales, marketing, and other functional areas to ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant presentation and review of monthly financial result. Provides financial support, as requested, to other functional departments/groups within the organization.
Education/Training Required and Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience Required and Preferred:
Minimum of 8 years in accounting to include a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. Manufacturing experience preferred.
What You Bring:
Must be knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principles. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in the use of computers required with a strong knowledge of computerized spreadsheets. Must be detail-oriented and have excellent analytical and organizational skills. Requires ability to work under minimal supervision, to self-initiate activities and work within timelines. Must have effective leadership skills to coordinate efforts and work with other departments. Requires ability to set goals and objectives and to set and meet timelines to achieve goals and objectives. Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing organizational needs. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

The salary for this opportunity ranges from $115,000 to $125,000 The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
