Description A well-established manufacturing company in Colorado Springs is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the organization's accounting function. This is an individual contributor role with significant autonomy and visibility, ideal for someone who enjoys owning the accounting process from start to finish and partnering directly with company leadership. The organization offers a stable, team-oriented environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the business. Position Overview As the Accounting Manager, you will serve as the primary accounting professional for the organization and be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a highly visible role that requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage a wide range of accounting responsibilities independently. Responsibilities

+ Manage high-volume Accounts Payable processing

+ Create and manage Purchase Orders

+ Maintain vendor relationships and vendor management activities

+ Oversee cash management functions

+ Handle Accounts Receivable activities (minimal collections responsibilities)

+ Process payroll through Paychex

+ Coordinate new hire onboarding activities

+ Prepare journal entries

+ Perform General Ledger reconciliations

+ Lead the month-end close process

+ Prepare monthly financial statements

+ Support compliance-related activities

+ Administer company insurance programs

+ Manage inventory accounting

+ Perform project-based cost accounting

+ Support percentage-of-completion revenue recognition

+ Work closely with the company's external CPA firm, which handles year-end tax work and filings What Makes This Opportunity Unique?

Requirements Required + 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience

+ Strong hands-on accounting background

+ Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation

+ General Ledger reconciliation experience

+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred

+ Manufacturing accounting experience

+ Experience with inventory accounting

+ Cost accounting experience

+ Construction or project-based accounting experience

+ Experience working in an accrual-based accounting environment
