Accounting Manager position Northern Colorado-based, nationally recognized specialty firm (with 20+ staff across multiple U.S. States) seeks an Accounting Manager with strong computer skills and, especially, demonstrated expertise with the Intuit QuickBooks Online software suite. Knowledge of and ability to ensure compliance with various state tax, employment regulations and payroll withholding and compliance required. Accounting Manager responsibilities include:
Oversight and supervision of Company's Accounting Policies and Practices Direct responsibility for journal entries, reconciliations and other general accounting duties Ensure timely billing and management of A/R and A/P Analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts. Develop and maintain a month-end and year-end closing process and timely process monthly financial reports. Research and resolve discrepancies and accounting errors while completing related G/L entries and yearly/quarterly/monthly reports. Provide timely data for management decision making Provide administrative and technical support in managing projects, identifying areas to improve efficiencies, and performs job duties and responsibilities in compliance with existing procedures, systems, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Balance assigned general ledgers daily/weekly/monthly. Develop, maintain, and manipulate complex accounting spreadsheets. Prepare reports using accounting systems from initial design through analytical review of results. Set up and maintain accounts with various state tax, unemployment, and department of revenue accounts Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations Manage employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with policies Manage worker's compensation program including renewals, reconciliations of payments, and movement of personnel Manage corporate insurance program including renewals, risk management, and COI management Work with CPA for preparation of taxes, tax planning, and year-end closeout Research and run all prepaid and fixed asset items in the depreciation program Process accounts payable, collection of vendors W-9 forms and year-end 1099 processing Assist with internal and external audits as required and prepare accounting schedules as requested. Maintain records and files in a timely and organized manner. Stays informed of changes and trends related to the job function. Maintains confidentiality with team members', and other sensitive information. Completes special projects and other duties assigned. Assist Project Managers and Team Leads with cost control of individual projects through job set up, timekeeping (Toggl) and billing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Accounting, Finance, or Business or related course of study Ability to pass criminal and driving record (no DUIs) background checks and become bonded and retain status Three (3) to five (5) years of similar experience in accounting Strong leadership and verbal and written communications skills Commitment to maintaining a safe and trusted environment for all employees Extremely professional and commitment to confidentiality Strong attention to detail Ability to evaluate, plan, and prioritize work effectively and independently Ability to accurately enter and process data Ability to work on a computer for 6-8 hours per day In addition to QuickBooks, also proficient in MS Office Suite including Team, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word and Excel Ability to meet deadlines consistently Sense of humor Equal opportunity employer.
