$250,000-$350,000 annually Position Overview A boutique private family office is seeking an experienced Chief Investment Officer to oversee and lead its investment activities across a diversified portfolio of public and private investments. As part of a small, highly collaborative team, the CIO will work closely and directly with ownership to develop and implement the family office's long-term investment strategy, oversee existing holdings, evaluate new opportunities, manage liquidity and capital commitments, and provide clear recommendations regarding the deployment of capital. This is a hands-on leadership role for an investment professional who combines strong analytical capabilities and investment judgment with excellent organization and communication skills. The ideal candidate will appreciate the entrepreneurial, relationship-driven nature of a boutique family office and be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy while remaining closely aligned with ownership's goals and priorities. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the family office's investment strategy in alignment with long-term objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and capital preservation goals. Oversee the investment portfolio across public securities, private placements, private equity, funds, alternative investments, and other investment vehicles. Evaluate new investment opportunities through due diligence, financial analysis, valuation, market research, and risk assessment. Prepare and present investment recommendations directly to ownership, including expected returns, risks, liquidity, and strategic fit. Manage and monitor private investments, including capital commitments, capital calls, distributions, valuations, documentation, and performance. Develop and maintain a forward-looking cash and liquidity plan, including upcoming investment commitments and expected distributions. Monitor portfolio performance, asset allocation, concentration, exposure, and risk, and recommend adjustments when appropriate. Maintain accurate investment records, reporting, valuations, and supporting documentation. Coordinate with investment managers, banks, private equity firms, attorneys, accountants, tax advisors, and other external partners. Maintain strong relationships with investment managers and third-party partners. Stay informed on market conditions, economic developments, and investment opportunities. Provide ownership with clear, regular reporting on portfolio performance, liquidity, commitments, risks, and opportunities. Ensure investment decisions remain aligned with the broader financial and strategic goals of the family office. Real Estate Investment Experience Experience evaluating real estate investments is a strong plus.

Qualifications Significant professional experience in investment management, family office investing, private equity, institutional investing, wealth management, or a related field. Demonstrated experience managing or advising on a diversified investment portfolio. Strong experience evaluating private placements, private equity, alternative investments, and fund investments. Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, investment risk, and liquidity management. Experience conducting investment due diligence, financial analysis, and valuation. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills. Ability to evaluate complex investment opportunities and translate that analysis into clear recommendations for ownership. Experience managing capital commitments, capital calls, distributions, and private investment reporting. Strong understanding of investment performance measurement and portfolio reporting. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with ownership and outside advisors. High degree of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working within a single-family office, multi-family office, private investment office, or similar organization. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field. CFA designation, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential preferred. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in investment management, family office investing, private equity, institutional investing, wealth management, or a related field. Real estate investment, underwriting, or acquisition experience is highly desirable. Experience working directly with principals, family members, or private ownership groups.
