Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee core accounting operations for an organization in Fort Myers, Florida. This position will lead daily financial activities, support accurate reporting, and help maintain strong internal controls across the accounting function. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in month-end close, general ledger management, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly close cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and financial records are complete and accurate.
  • Oversee general ledger activity and review account balances to maintain reliable financial data.
  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries while ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and other key accounts regularly, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Coordinate financial statement audit support by organizing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and addressing follow-up items.
  • Monitor accounting processes and strengthen internal controls to improve accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Supervise day-to-day accounting activities and provide guidance to team members on best practices and priorities. Requirements
  • Proven experience in an accounting leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with account reconciliations and journal entry review.
  • Familiarity with financial statement audit preparation and auditor support.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
