What You'll Do The Grants and Finance Manager will establish and oversee the financial and grant management foundation of

This role will manage financial operations, grant finances, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, reporting, risk management, and organizational financial systems while supporting leadership in strategic planning, resource allocation, and long-term organizational sustainability.
Budget Development and Financial Planning:
Develop, implement, and monitor organizational and program budgets; prepare financial projections and forecasts; analyze budget-to-actual performance; and provide leadership with financial insights to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and organizational growth.
Financial Accounting and Management:
Oversee core accounting activities including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, expense tracking, accruals, cash flow monitoring, and financial recordkeeping while maintaining accurate and timely financial information.
Financial Policies and Internal Controls:
Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial policies, procedures, approval processes, internal controls, and accounting workflows aligned with applicable nonprofit accounting standards, GAAP, regulatory requirements, and organizational needs.
Financial Systems and Infrastructure:
Build and maintain accounting systems, financial workflows, reporting structures, documentation practices, and technology solutions that support accurate financial management, transparency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Grant Administration:
Manage the financial lifecycle of grants from award startup through closeout, including grant budgets, expenditures, reimbursement requests, financial reporting, documentation, deadlines, funding restrictions, and coordination with program teams and funders.
Grant Compliance:
Monitor grant activity to ensure funds are used appropriately and in accordance with grant agreements, approved budgets, donor restrictions, applicable regulations, and funder requirements. Identify potential compliance concerns and work proactively to address them.
Grant Development Support:
Partner with leadership and program teams to identify funding needs, develop grant budgets, prepare financial information for proposals, evaluate funding opportunities, and ensure proposed budgets accurately reflect program objectives and organizational priorities.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and interpret financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, cash flow reports, grant financial reports, funding analyses, and other financial information for leadership, the Board of Directors, funders, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Financial Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and monitor financial and operational risks, including cash flow, funding restrictions, compliance, internal controls, and resource allocation. Develop recommendations and processes that strengthen financial stability and reduce organizational risk.
Cash Flow and Treasury Management:
Monitor organizational cash flow, liquidity, funding requirements, and short- and long-term financial needs. Support responsible cash management and provide leadership with timely information regarding financial position and resource availability.
Data Analytics and Decision Support:
Use financial data, Excel or Google Sheets, accounting systems, and reporting tools to identify trends, improve reporting accuracy, monitor performance, streamline financial processes, and provide actionable information to support organizational decision-making.
Nonprofit Operations:
Support the development of organizational policies, procedures, administrative systems, annual planning processes, and operational practices that promote accountability, efficiency, compliance, and sustainable growth.
Nonprofit Governance and Reporting:
Support leadership and the Board of Directors with financial information, organizational reporting, documentation, and analysis needed for effective governance, oversight, and strategic decision-making.
Audit and Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain organized and accurate financial and grant records and coordinate with accountants, auditors, tax professionals, funders, regulators, and other external partners to support audits, tax filings, financial reviews, grant requirements, and ongoing compliance.
Financial Strategy and Organizational Sustainability:
Partner with leadership to evaluate funding opportunities, financial performance, resource allocation, operational needs, and long-term financial risks while developing strategies and systems that strengthen the organization's financial sustainability and capacity for growth.
Team Leadership and Development:
As the organization grows, provide direction, training, mentorship, and performance support to finance and administrative team members while promoting accountability, continuous improvement, accuracy, and strong financial practices. Other Duties as

What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in nonprofit finance, grants management, accounting, operations, financial planning, or a related field. Experience managing nonprofit grants and multiple funding streams from award startup through reporting and closeout. Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, GAAP, budgeting, restricted and unrestricted funds, grant accounting, and financial controls. Experience developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, systems, workflows, and internal controls within a nonprofit or growing organization. Strong accounting knowledge, including general ledger management, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, accrual accounting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. Experience developing financial projections, budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning and organizational growth. Understanding of nonprofit compliance, grant requirements, regulatory reporting, audit processes, and financial risk management. Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online and advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets. Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends and risks, and translate financial information into clear recommendations for leadership. Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build scalable systems and processes within a new or growing organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information to individuals with varying levels of financial expertise. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership, Board members, program teams, funders, accountants, auditors, and community partners. Demonstrated leadership, accountability, discretion, and integrity in managing confidential financial and organizational information.
