Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support a long-term contract assignment in Naperville, Illinois. This role will focus on strengthening accounting operations, improving inventory visibility, and ensuring financial practices align with established compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting knowledge and can evaluate current workflows while introducing practical, well-controlled reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Review existing accounting procedures and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control across financial operations.
- Evaluate the acquired company's financial practices and recommend adjustments to align reporting with organizational accounting standards.
- Lead the development of inventory tracking methods and create reporting that provides clear insight into valuation, movement, and balances.
- Oversee month-end close activities to ensure timely completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Manage general ledger activity and maintain the integrity of account balances through detailed review and analysis.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and investigating underlying issues.
- Direct inventory reconciliations and analysis to confirm accuracy between physical records, subledgers, and financial statements.
- Guide the conversion of accounting practices from a cash-based approach to a framework that complies with GAAP requirements.
