Job Description

Accounting Manager A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its general accounting function and supervise a team of accounting professionals. This individual will oversee the monthly close process, financial reporting, inventory accounting, technical accounting matters, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong GAAP knowledge, experience in a complex accounting environment, and a passion for developing people and improving processes. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3-5 accounting professionals through coaching, training, and performance management. Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with
U.S. GAAP.
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness. Manage inventory accounting, standard cost analysis, inventory reconciliations, and physical inventory processes across multiple facilities. Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation, lease accounting, and capital project tracking. Research and interpret complex accounting guidance, prepare technical accounting memos, and implement new accounting standards. Coordinate annual financial statement audits and serve as the primary contact for internal and external auditors. Partner with operations, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership to improve financial reporting, internal controls, and business processes. Support ERP enhancements, system implementations, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Review cash activity, assist with treasury functions, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements. Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Public company accounting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting. Experience working with ERP systems;Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar platforms preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, and complex formulas. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Proven ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
