Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage audit engagements, ensuring compliance with GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards) and other relevant regulations
- Plan and execute audits of financial statements, internal controls, and operational processes
- Review workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports prepared by audit staff
- Provide guidance and support to audit team members throughout the audit process
- Identify and communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to clients or management
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends
- Assist in the development and implementation of audit methodologies and tools
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices
- Experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
- Familiarity with tax laws and regulations related to auditing
- Proficiency in risk management techniques and internal control frameworks
- Technical expertise in accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and financial reporting requirements
- Understanding of governmental accounting principles (e.g., GASB)
- Knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements
- Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
