Salary Range:

$85,000 - $115,000

Hours:

40 hours/week; 8:30am-5:00pm. Some flexibility in availability may be required to meet the needs of the business. As an Accounting Manager/Controller, you will be a leader within the Accounting department. The primary responsibilities of this position involve managing a team of four; ensuring compliance with regulations, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and internal policies and procedures; reviewing month-end reconciliations to confirm accuracy and timeliness.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the daily operations of the Accounting department Ensure that all activities of the department are in accordance with GAAP and the accounting records are maintained accurately and in compliance with laws and regulations. Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, evaluating the performance of the staff on a regular basis. Resolve employee questions or conflicts. Responsible for general ledger reconciliation, analysis of financial accounts, and preparation of journal entries. Facilitate month-end close and produce monthly financial statements. Prepare financial information for regulatory reporting (NCUA 5300 Call Report). Facilitate regulatory examinations and annual CPA audits. Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5-7 years of related experience, preferably within a credit union or community bank . A 4-year college degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Accurate completion of responsibilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills: phone, verbal, and written. Strong abilities in problem solving, researching, and decision-making. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required. Able to accept and facilitate change. Keyboarding skills and proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook, plus the ability to learn new software applications. This position requires operation of a PC and viewing information on a monitor. Must be able to sit for many hours each day. Must be able to communicate via telephone and possess dexterity to include filing, reaching, and bending.
