Accounting Manager

Vulcraft Nebraska, a division of Nucor, is hiring an Accounting Manager in Norfolk, NE. This leadership role oversees all accounting and financial operations including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting-related role required
• Strong knowledge of accounting operations, financial reporting, and budgeting processes
• Ability to lead accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, tax, and fixed assets
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead and develop finance team members
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance standards
• Ability to support audits, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives
• Willingness to pursue future Department Manager opportunities, including possible relocation within 3-5 years

Preferred:

CPA, CMA, MBA, or Master's Degree

SAP experience Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance functions including general ledger, accounts payable, tax, fixed assets, and compliance reporting
• Oversee forecasting, budgeting support, monthly balancing, and inventory management activities
• Ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions and accounting records
• Lead implementation and communication of accounting policies, controls, and system improvements
• Supervise internal and external audit processes while maintaining strong internal controls
• Provide financial analysis and accounting support to operational departments
• Drive continuous cost improvement initiatives across business operations
• Lead training, mentoring, and development efforts for finance department teammates
• Collaborate with division leadership to support strategic financial planning and operational goals
