Job Description

Hastings Ford is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to join our automotive dealership team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with automotive dealership experience who understands dealership accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and the fast-paced nature of the automotive business. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations and accounting staff. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger activity of Hastings Ford. Complete and oversee monthly financial statements and month-end closing procedures . Review dealership financial performance and provide reporting to management. Reconcile bank accounts, schedules, and general ledger accounts. Monitor vehicle inventory accounting and floor plan-related activity. Work closely with the General Manager, Controller, Department Managers, and Accounting Team. Ensure accurate posting of vehicle sales, parts, service, and other dealership transactions. Assist with manufacturer financial reporting and required dealership submissions. Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations. Identify discrepancies and implement processes to improve accounting accuracy and efficiency. Assist with audits, tax preparation, budgeting, and other financial projects as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of accounting experience; automotive dealership experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of dealership financial statements and accounting practices. Experience with Dealertrack, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar dealership systems is a plus. Strong Excel and computer skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
