full-time CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting our client in their search for a Corporate Controller on the west side of Cleveland . We are partnering with a high-growth manufacturing company in the search for a highly engaged Corporate Controller. This is a hands-on leadership role for an accounting and finance professional who is comfortable working directly in the day-to-day accounting operation while building the people, processes, systems, and infrastructure needed to support continued growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the management team, directly supervise one accounting staff member, partner with the company's external accounting firm, and have the opportunity to grow the finance team and become an integral member of the senior leadership team. This individual will also champion innovation, improve operational efficiency, and help shape the company's long-term financial strategy by delivering forward-looking insights and scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities Prepare consolidated financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually. Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and inventory management. Manage cash flow, disbursements, and maintain bank line of credit balances. Coordinate the year-end review and tax return process with external accountants, ensuring timely and accurate provision of supporting documents. Supervise preparation of recurring order entry and sales reports. Support Sales and Operation through preparation of Quotes, Sales Order Acknowledgements and Invoices. Update inventory balances after year-end physical inventory, collaborating with the Operations Manager to ensure proper cutoff procedures. Maintain and update standard costs and overhead allocations in the MRP system for manufactured parts. Continuously evaluate and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and workflows; identify opportunities to simplify processes, leverage technology, and improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of period-end closings and financial operations. Remain actively involved in day-to-day accounting activities, stepping into detailed work as needed to maintain accuracy, responsiveness, and timely execution. Build and develop a scalable accounting and finance function by assessing organizational needs, defining future roles, and hiring, coaching, and leading team members as the company grows. Serve as a trusted financial partner to shareholders and the senior leadership team, translating financial results into practical insights that support planning, investment, and growth decisions. Lead finance innovation by evaluating and implementing systems, automation, reporting tools, and data-driven practices that increase productivity, strengthen visibility, and create capacity for higher-value work. Partner with senior leadership on long-range financial planning, forecasting, scenario analysis, capital allocation, and performance measurement to support sustainable growth and informed strategic decisions. Provide support for human resources, payroll, and benefits administration. Secondary Functions Oversee the credit and collections function, coordinating closely with Inside Sales & Customer Service. Assist the President with administrative functions, including maintaining appropriate commercial insurance coverage. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred but not required. Minimum of 8 years progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, with hands-on oversight of accounting functions. Advanced knowledge of accounting and finance principles. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting/CRM systems. Strong multitasking, organizational, and collaborative skills. Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach, coupled with the leadership presence, business acumen, innovative mindset, and ambition to build a team, advance operational efficiency, and contribute to long-term strategy as a member of senior leadership in a high-growth environment.
