Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Commissions and Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This role combines commission administration with core financial reporting responsibilities, supporting accurate advisor compensation, timely payroll inputs, and reliable management reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, analytical skill, and the ability to work across multiple stakeholders to resolve issues and improve reporting consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly calculation and processing of advisor commissions across insurance, life, annuity, and other compensation programs, ensuring timely and accurate payouts.
- Review source records and build commission statements, investigate calculation issues, and resolve exceptions before compensation is finalized.
- Serve as a key point of contact for insurance carriers, financial advisors, leadership, payroll, and accounting to answer questions and coordinate issue resolution.
- Produce payroll-ready files for approved variable compensation and maintain supporting documentation for audit and processing purposes.
- Prepare backup for commission-related journal entries and complete assigned reconciliations to support accurate financial records.
- Generate recurring financial statements and compile reporting packages for management review on an established schedule.
- Analyze reporting fluctuations by preparing variance summaries and documenting significant differences in financial data.
- Respond to routine requests for financial information while maintaining organized reporting files, source support, and data definitions.
- Partner with internal finance stakeholders to streamline recurring reporting activities and strengthen process consistency and efficiency.
- Contribute to financial analysis, consolidated reporting, and decision-support work for broader strategic finance initiatives.
