Responsibilities The Financial Clearance Specialist is responsible for the completion of insurance verification at both the eligibility and benefit level. This individual will assess, review and determine the insurance coverage and requirements for the visits and diagnostic testing that will be performed. They will serve as the bridge between the clinical and revenue cycle business areas, by obtaining all required referrals and authorizations prior to the completion of any visits or testing. This process will assure that payment is received in a timely fashion from the date the services are preformed, thereby reducing the financial risk to the organization. This position works closely with departmental leaders and staff to assure all clinical data required to obtain authorization for services rendered are obtained both Pre and Post op procedures. This individual will be key in assuring the financial stability of the program. This role will also contact patient/caregiver once the visit has been confirmed as covered by insurance or to advise of any financial obligation that the patient may have.
