We are looking for an experienced SEC Reporting Manager to support a client engagement at a public company in Northern Virginia. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who brings strong knowledge of external reporting, technical accounting, and regulatory compliance. The role will focus on preparing accurate filings, strengthening financial reporting processes, and partnering with key stakeholders to ensure reporting obligations are met with precision.

Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings, including periodic reports and related disclosures, to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Interpret accounting guidance and regulatory requirements to support external reporting decisions and resolve complex technical matters. Coordinate with finance, accounting, and cross-functional teams to gather information needed for timely financial reporting deliverables. Manage reporting schedules and supporting documentation to maintain consistency, organization, and adherence to deadlines. Oversee the use of reporting tools such as Workiva to streamline document preparation, data linkage, and filing readiness. Assess the accounting treatment for revenue-related matters and other significant transactions to support accurate financial statement presentation. Review financial statements and disclosures for alignment with SEC rules, company policies, and applicable accounting standards. Provide subject matter guidance on reporting issues by applying experience from public accounting and corporate reporting environments. Demonstrated experience managing SEC reporting activities and preparing external financial filings. Strong understanding of SEC regulations, U.S. GAAP, and technical accounting research. Background in financial reporting within a public company or public accounting setting. Hands-on experience using Workiva or a similar reporting platform. Knowledge of revenue recognition and its impact on financial statement disclosures. CPA designation is required or strongly preferred based on overall experience. Proven ability to handle multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
