Sea West Federal Credit Union is seeking a Lead Teller/ Financial Services Representative to be the friendly face of our Alameda branch. In this role, you will blend transaction accuracy with deep member engagement. You will serve as the frontline operations expert, managing daily branch workflow, handling vault and cash balancing, and mentoring staff.
Monitor lobby traffic, schedule daily shifts/breaks, assign window coverage, and redirect staff to maintain efficiency during peak hours.
Team Mentorship & Compliance Training:
Onboard new tellers, cross-train staff on internal policies, and guide the team through technological updates.
Auditing:
Conduct routine, unscheduled audits of individual teller drawers, vault cash, and negotiable instruments like money orders.
Risk Mitigation:
Enforce check holds, verification of proper identification, and compliance checks on large transactions or overrides.
Process Improvement:
Develop, review, and recommend systems to management to assure optimal branch operations.
Member Experience & Relationship Building Exceptional Member Service:
Greet members with a professional, warm demeanor to build lasting rapport.
Consultative Sales:
Identify member needs and introduce products or services that improve their financial well-being.
Problem Solving:
Assist tellers with resolving complex, escalated member disputes and difficult policy exceptions.
Job Requirements Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience:
Minimum 3 years' related experience in financial institutions ( credit union experience is a plus).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
