A Financial Services Representative sells financial services and advises clients on financial services products, including banking services, securities and insurance.
On-site / In-person Position Summary The Member Service Representative (MSR) serves as the primary point of contact for members and is responsible for delivering exceptional service through in-person, phone, and electronic channels. This role assists members with account maintenance, transactions, online banking support, and general product inquiries while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a positive member experience. The MSR plays an important role in building member relationships, identifying member needs, and promoting credit union products and services. Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to members in person, by phone, and through electronic communication channels. Assist members with routine account transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing. Answer member questions regarding account balances, transaction history, credit union products, services, rates, and policies. Assist members with opening memberships and completing required account documentation. Process account maintenance requests, including address changes, personal information updates, and other account modifications. Assist members with online banking access, password resets, and account unlock requests. Process ACH authorization forms and assist with ACH-related service requests. Receive and process incoming wire transfers and assist with outgoing wire transfer requests in accordance with credit union procedures. Assist members with debit card maintenance, transaction inquiries, travel notifications, and dispute requests. Process stop payment requests and assist with check ordering services. Research and resolve routine account discrepancies, transaction questions, and member service requests. Educate members on available products and services that may meet their financial needs. Maintain accurate records and documentation while ensuring compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Participate in training, meetings, and professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Previous customer service experience required; financial institution experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other business software. Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems efficiently. Commitment to providing exceptional member service and maintaining confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Previous credit union or banking experience. Knowledge of deposit accounts, consumer lending products, and electronic banking services. Familiarity with ACH processing, debit card services, wire transfers, and account maintenance functions. Experience handling member service requests and resolving account-related issues. FLSA Classification This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). As a non-exempt, part-time, hourly position, the employee is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
