Job Summary:
The Payment Poster / Self-Pay Credit Balance Specialist is a position primarily responsible for the accurate, timely posting, balancing, and reconciliation of payments from all payers and patients, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and self-pay. This role functions as a critical internal control to ensure the accuracy and integrity of PMH's patient accounting system and daily cash reconciliation processes. Secondarily, the position supports self-pay credit balance identification and resolution, including research, correction of posting errors, and processing of patient refunds in accordance with PMH policies, union guidelines, and applicable federal and state regulations. The role works collaboratively within the Patient Financial Services department to support compliance, audit readiness, and a positive patient financial experience.Required:
High School Graduate or GED, One year credits or cash posting experience in hospital or clinic setting. Must be knowledgeable of computerized claims follow up systems, able to access multiple web sites without difficulty, able to use computer system to generate independent reports, work independently within established goals and be able to initiate production goals.Preferred:
