Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements. Review medical records, including

ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT

codes, and DRG classifications to ensure precise coding for diagnoses and procedures. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly through effective collection strategies and communication with insurance companies and patients. Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, including payment postings, adjustments, and correspondence. Resolve billing discrepancies by analyzing medical records, verifying insurance coverage, and communicating with healthcare providers or patients. Stay updated on healthcare claims management policies, health insurance regulations, and changes in medical coding standards to ensure ongoing compliance. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding bills, payments, or insurance claims with professionalism and clarity. Experience Prior experience in medical billing or collections within a healthcare setting is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare claims processing. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel to manage documentation efficiently. Experience working with billing software specific to healthcare practices is a plus. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, DRG classifications, and health insurance procedures enhances effectiveness in this role. Excellent communication skills combined with a customer service-oriented approach are essential for success.
