Job Description

Position Summary:

BAM Dental Group is looking to add a detail oriented, team player to their department. The Insurance Coordinator will work with our Centralized Services Department to process dental insurance claims and provide insurance benefit breakdowns to patients. The Coordinator will contact insurance companies and patients regarding coverage determinations and will research and resolve insurance billing issues. Plan Essential Functions:

Submit all insurance claims and work on rejected claims. Identify and work on rejected claims from the ClaimX report daily. Verify electronic claims and NEA attachments were transmitted. Write and submit narratives to insurance companies. Handle requests for additional information from insurance companies. Assist with insurance related phone calls. Follow up on claims sent back via email. Run claims not attached to the insurance report. Work on the Medical Aging Report. Submit all medical claims. Assist in updating the insurance plan database monthly. Exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding coverage and insurance claims and resolves billing disputes with little supervision. Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings. May be required to train and supervise others on the administrative team. Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.

Experience and Education:

Possess understanding and experience in handling insurance and billing matters in a medical setting. Excellent computer skills and ability to use practice software systems.

Must have High School Diploma or equivalent

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Sitting 80% Standing/walking 20% Moderate noise levels from dental and other Lab equipment Phone communication daily Good Mathematical aptitude in order to prepare and interpret financial reports, collect and track payments and account balances, and maintain financial integrity for the practice. Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) as required for computer data entry and the preparation of treatment plans.
