Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mental Health Insurance Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of healthcare claims management, medical coding, and insurance billing processes specific to mental health services. This role involves managing billing procedures, ensuring accurate claim submissions, and maintaining excellent communication with insurance providers and patients to facilitate timely reimbursements. Duties Prepare and submit insurance claims using billing software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements. Review and verify patient insurance information, including coverage details and authorization requirements. Utilize CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG codes to accurately document services provided for mental health treatments. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly to facilitate medical collections and resolve discrepancies. Maintain detailed and organized medical records, including medical records, billing documentation, and correspondence with insurance companies. Stay current with healthcare claims management regulations, health insurance policies, and coding updates relevant to mental health billing. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation supports billing processes and adheres to legal standards. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing within a mental health or healthcare setting, with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (including

CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10

), and healthcare claims management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and billing software used in medical offices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients. Knowledge of health insurance policies, medical collection procedures, and compliance standards is essential. Prior experience working with DRG systems or ICD coding is highly desirable. Medical office experience combined with a solid understanding of medical records management is preferred.
