The Claims Advocate is responsible for serving as the liaison between our clients, claimants, producers, and carriers regarding all claim matters, taking a proactive approach to advocate on behalf of clients for the best possible claim outcome, and employing best efforts to ensure that the clients' interests are protected by mitigating overall exposure.
WHO YOU NEED TO BE
You are the best of the best! Your carriers and clients love you and you know how to keep them delighted! You have the needed expertise and claims related experience (2+ years), ideally handling General Liability, Auto or Property claims. You know that quality is key, and your attention to detail is one of your best traits, along with being well organized, excellent at math, and having some great written and oral communication skills. Technology is your friend - you usually know all the shortcuts and what you don't know, you learn quickly. You know that attitude is everything. You come to work ready to be a team player every day, even if that means having to step up to other duties from time to time. You have an active P&C license or Claims Certification. If you have a college degree, that sends you to the top of the list, but it isn't required. If you have an insurance designation, that's even better!
THE JOB A
Claims Advocate contributes to C3's success by performing the following tasks: Responsible for managing all aspects of a claim including: evaluate applicable coverage; enter claim into agency management system; prepare loss notice and report claim to carrier (if applicable); follow up on a regular basis to make sure claim is progressing; keep insured and producer updated on status; update agency management system with updated information. Coordinate between client and insurer to discuss all aspects of claim/coverage and assist with resolution of coverage issues which may involve on-site visits. Advocate for client's best interests during claims process. Assist with needs assessments as to establish reporting procedures and service commitments. Provide technical expertise in response to client inquiries concerning claim matters. Provide client with claim status reports; review and maintain claim files as needed or required by service commitments. Schedule and participate in formal claim reviews, stewardships, client presentations as needed or required by service commitments. Notify producer and servicing team of accounts with adverse claim history that may receive increased scrutiny during underwriting process. Identify trends in claims and assist C3 Risk & Insurance Services Risk and Safety to help facilitate a resolution. Interface with other departments to ensure effective communication and operation; provide technical support to other C3 Risk & Insurance Services departments; maintain high standards of client service. Maintain current knowledge of insurance contracts, industry trends, attend seminars, workshops, training programs, as necessary and appropriate. Conduct all business in accordance with established policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Demands You must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
