Job Summary:
The Property and Casualty Insurance Sales Agent position involves heavy customer interaction and requires dedication to delivering a superior customer service experience. This role requires the ability to generate new business by contacting potential customers and selling various types of insurance products.
Job Duties:
1. Proactively build relationships and gain customer commitment by informing and recommending appropriate coverage. Member interaction will occur primarily via call center. 2. Interact with policyholders to deliver and explain policy coverage and suggest additions/changes. 3. Analyze and customize insurance programs to suit individual customers, often covering a variety of risks. 4. Explain features, advantages, and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale of insurance plans. 5. Select company to underwrite policy that offers type of coverage requested by client. 6. Reach out to potential clients to expand our customer base. 7. Complete administrative tasks, such as processing required paperwork, maintaining logs, handling policy renewals, and reviewing commission statements for accuracy 8. Work closely with Credit Union staff to gather referrals. Relationship development is critical to this function. 9. Compliance with applicable statutes and regulations including, but not limited to, BSA. 10. All other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Property & Casualty Licensing is required for both South Carolina and North Carolina. One to three years of experience specifically in Property and Casualty sales is required. A college degree is preferred but not required Additional requirements include: Competitive spirit and drive to achieve personal and sales success. Team player who is assertive and persistent with obtaining individual and team goals. Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Possess above average computer proficiency and the ability to operate various software programs simultaneously. Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with members, non-members, producers, and associates. Accountable to commitments, consistently meets deadlines, and demonstrates diligence with meetings and appointments. Ability to offer creative and innovative solutions to changing, customer and business, needs. Excellent listening skills and ability to understand customer and producer needs. Take initiative to learn multiple internet platforms and agency management systems.
