Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused Insurance Sales & Service Representative to join our team. This role combines relationship-based insurance sales with exceptional customer service and account support. The ideal candidate will serve as a primary point of contact for both prospective and existing customers—helping identify insurance needs, recommending appropriate coverage, assisting with policy changes and questions, and building long-term customer relationships. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to confidently identify and pursue sales opportunities while providing a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person. Build relationships with prospective and existing customers to understand their insurance needs. Educate customers on insurance products, coverage options, discounts, and available services. Provide quotes and make coverage recommendations based on individual customer needs. Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell insurance products to appropriately protect customers and their families. Follow up with prospective customers and leads to generate new business. Assist existing customers with policy changes, renewals, cancellations, billing questions, and other account needs. Support customers throughout the claims process by providing information and assisting with claim-related questions. Proactively review customer accounts to identify coverage gaps and additional insurance opportunities. Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently while maintaining a positive customer experience. Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, follow-ups, and transactions in the CRM system. Collaborate with team members, underwriting, claims, and other departments to provide seamless customer service. Meet individual and team sales, service, retention, and activity goals. Stay current on insurance products, company policies, industry regulations, and product updates.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in sales, customer service, insurance, or financial services preferred. Insurance industry experience is a plus. Strong sales and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain insurance products and coverage options in a clear and understandable manner. Comfortable initiating conversations, following up with leads, and asking for the sale. Ability to handle customer concerns and difficult situations with professionalism and patience. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Ability to obtain and maintain any required insurance licenses.
