An Insurance Underwriter evaluates and measures risk and advises businesses in insurance, banking and securities. Recommends customers to be approved for insurance coverage, and develops policies and premium levels. Reviews loan applications, evaluates credit-worthiness of loan applicants and analyzes the investment risk of a loan for the bank. Evaluates risk in different types of securities and advises clients on investments that will yield highest profits.

Assist the Underwriting Team with credit, market, and underwriting analysis of multi-family loans.Major Responsibilities:
Input property level profit and loss statements and project rent rolls for reconciliation and analysis. Learn Agency program rules and industry standards to develop underwritten pro-forma projections for net cash flow for multi-family assets. Order and critically analyze third party appraisals, property conduction reports, and phase I environmental and seismic for Agency program compliance. Complete market analysis to determine trends in income, demographics, rents and occupancy levels. Develop understanding of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multi-family standards and processes. Assist Underwriter with preparation of loan committee narrative submissions and Freddie Mac submissions. Assist Underwriting Team in the preparation of all deliverables in connection with loan closings. Complete project site inspections to assess quality, condition, and position within a competitive set for proposed collateral. Additional ad hoc financial analysis as required. Interface with Underwriting staff, Production staff, and external parties in a professional manner. Other duties or special assignments as assigned.Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in finance or real estate preferred. Prior experience in a professional work environment is a plus. Bachelor's degree in business or finance is required. Strong proficiency with of Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel). Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and collaborate well with multiple parties. Ability to problem solve, exercise a high degree of accuracy and complete multiple tasks on schedule. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $65K-$80K annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and geographic location.
