Manager of Underwriting

We are looking for an Underwriting Manager to join our dynamic Insurance team. The ideal candidate will have general liability underwriting operations experience and managing a team of underwriting staff. Critical thinking and analysis skills as well as strong interpersonal skills are essential.

What You Will Be DoingAs an Underwriting Manager, you will work in an office-based environment in our Richmond, VA office. You are an experienced underwriter manager or director, or current Underwriting Manager with 5+ years' of insurance industry experience ready to grow your career. You are experienced with underwriting policies in general liability, commercial, renewal and new business. You will be responsible for a team of 7 direct reports at the Richmond office and 15 reports from the NY office. You will be successful with mentorship and training of new employees and progressing the careers of more tenured employees.

What You Need for this Position5+ years of related experience in any of the following

• Managing Underwriting Operations
• Managing Profit & Loss of the Underwriting Operations office(s
• Overseeing P&L, hiring, training & managing staff, overall staff & office performance, as well as organizational growth initiatives
• Managing people/Leadership Skills
• Conflict Resolution & Critical Thinking Skills
