Job Description Portfolio Manager Model Portfolios Team Full-Time Springfield, MA or Boston ,MA The Opportunity MassMutual's Model Portfolios team is seeking an experienced research analyst or Portfolio manager to help manage and drive the continued growth and evolution of our model portfolio business. This role combines investment management, portfolio construction, research, advisor engagement, and business development support within one of the firm's strategic growth initiatives. As a Portfolio Manager, you will play a key role in the management, maintenance, development, and oversight of multi-asset mutual fund and ETF portfolios utilized across the MassMutual advisor distribution channels. You will partner closely with Custom Portfolio Solutions, Investment Research, Product, Distribution, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver high-quality portfolio solutions that meet client objectives while supporting business growth. The ideal candidate will possess deep investment expertise, strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and experience presenting investment recommendations to both internal and external audiences. The Team The Model Portfolios team manages, designs, and oversees ongoing implementation of discretionary model portfolio solutions serving MassMutual financial advisors and their clients. The team works collaboratively with the Custom Portfolio Solutions, Investment Research, Product, Distribution, Compliance, Operations, and Technology organizations to deliver scalable investment solutions and advisor support. The Impact In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping investment outcomes for advisors and clients by managing model portfolios, evaluating investment opportunities, and providing data-driven recommendations. Through portfolio construction, manager due diligence, risk monitoring, and market analysis, you will help deliver sophisticated investment solutions that support client goals, enhance advisor confidence, and drive strategic business growth. Working across teams and stakeholders, you will influence investment decisions, strengthen portfolio offerings, and contribute to a disciplined, client-focused investment process. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and oversee multi-asset model portfolios, including asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction, and ongoing monitoring. Conduct investment due diligence on mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, liquid alternatives, and other investment vehicles. Develop and present portfolio recommendations, trade rationale, and investment commentary to advisors, clients, and internal committees and stakeholders. Support ongoing model portfolio maintenance, rebalancing activities, and implementation of approved investment changes. Create advisor- and-client-facing investment content, including market commentary, portfolio trade updates, and presentations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product enhancements, business initiatives, advisor transitions, and strategic growth opportunities. Monitor portfolio performance, risk characteristics, style exposures, and capital market developments to identify investment opportunities and risks. Contribute to the development of portfolio analytics, due diligence frameworks, and investment decision-making processes. The Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in investment management, portfolio management, investment research, asset allocation, or related investment roles. 3+ years of experience conducting investment manager, mutual fund, ETF, or investment vehicle due diligence. 3+ years of experience analyzing mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts, model portfolios, or multi-asset investment strategies. 3+ years of experience utilizing quantitative analysis, performance attribution, risk metrics, portfolio analytics, or investment research methodologies to support investment recommendations. 3+ years of experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across investment, distribution, operations, product, compliance, or risk functions. FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 at time of application or must obtain within 180 days. The Ideal Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field. CFA Charterholder or CFA candidate, MBA, or an equivalent advanced degree or designation (e.g., MS, FRM, CAIA, etc.) 7+ years of portfolio management or investment research experience. Experience supporting model portfolios, managed accounts, OCIO, UMA, or wealth management investment platforms. Knowledge of alternative investments, liquid alternatives, private markets, and institutional investment strategies. Experience presenting investment recommendations to advisors, clients, and investment committees or senior leadership teams. Familiarity with Morningstar Direct, FactSet, Bloomberg, Envestnet, and portfolio analytics platforms. Strong written communication skills with experience developing market commentary, portfolio updates, and advisor education materials. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across investment, distribution, operations, compliance, and product teams. Salary Range:
