The client is a leading SBA national lender, so this role will oversee the default management, loan workout, and liquidation processes across their national SBA 7(a) loan portfolio. This role leads a dedicated team of Special Asset and Portfolio Officers, drives account resolutions and collateral recoveries, ensures strict compliance with

57, and coordinates directly with borrowers, attorneys, and the SBA to protect institutional and government-guaranteed assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Supervise, mentor, and direct a team of Special Asset Officers and Portfolio Officers. Align daily workloads, monitor file progress, lead process improvement initiatives, and conduct training on portfolio management and liquidation strategies.
Workout & Restructuring Plans:
Implement and execute timely workout strategies, forbearance plans, and debt restructuring solutions. Conduct negotiations with borrowers, guarantors, and attorneys to return non-performing loans to performing/pass status.
Collateral & Financial Analysis:
Perform detailed collateral valuations, business survivability assessments, and discounted cash flow/stabilization models. Present formal resolution, settlement, and charge-off recommendations to executive leadership.
Legal & Liquidation Oversight:
Direct legal proceedings, including judicial/non-judicial foreclosure, repossession, replevin, and bankruptcy actions. Oversee court submissions, PACER tracking, trustee communications, and proofs of claim in coordination with outside legal counsel.
SBA Compliance & Agency Relations:
Enforce strict adherence to
SBA SOP 50 57
Servicing and Liquidation guidelines. Prepare comprehensive Liquidation Plans, maintain liquidation timelines within the SBA two-year rule (or obtain required extensions), and coordinate guaranty purchase activities with the National Guaranty Purchase Center (NGPC).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in SBA 7(a) loan servicing, default management, loan workout, and collateral liquidation (experience within a Small Business Lending Company / SBLC environment strongly preferred).
Technical Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of
SBA SOP 50
57 and SOP 50 10, bankruptcy law, UCC filings, personal/real property foreclosure, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Working knowledge of SBA E-Tran/CAFS, FTA Systems, PACER, Spark, and PCFS/Loan Manager.
Skills:
Strong team leadership, financial statement spreading, cash flow modeling, high-stakes negotiation, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel data tables, pivot tables, and PowerPoint).
