Exempt Position Summary The Commercial Lender is responsible for developing new business relationships, originating commercial loans, and managing a portfolio of commercial clients throughout Marshall County and surrounding markets. This position serves as a trusted financial advisor to business owners, investors, professionals, and community leaders by providing customized lending and deposit solutions that support business growth and financial success. The Commercial Lender actively represents the bank within the community and works to expand the bank's market presence through business development, relationship management, and sound credit practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Business Development & Relationship Management Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, commercial real estate investors, agricultural operations, professionals, and community organizations. Prospect for new commercial loan and deposit opportunities through networking, referrals, and direct calling efforts. Generate new loan production while growing core deposits and treasury management relationships. Actively participate in community events, civic organizations, chambers of commerce, and business associations. Partner with bank management to identify strategic growth opportunities within Marshall County. Commercial Lending Activities Originate, structure, negotiate, and close commercial loan transactions.
Develop financing solutions for:
Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Owner-Occupied Properties Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Loans Equipment Financing Agricultural Loans Construction Loans Working Capital Lines of Credit Small Business Loans Collect and analyze financial statements, tax returns, projections, and collateral information. Prepare credit presentations and loan recommendations for approval. Assist clients in selecting appropriate banking products and services. Credit Administration Maintain underwriting standards consistent with bank policy and regulatory guidelines. Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessments. Monitor covenant compliance and financial performance of borrowers. Perform annual reviews and periodic credit quality assessments. Identify emerging credit concerns and recommend corrective action when necessary. Portfolio Management Manage and grow an assigned commercial loan portfolio. Maintain strong asset quality and portfolio profitability. Work with customers to renew, restructure, or modify credit facilities as appropriate. Monitor delinquency trends and assist in collection activities when necessary. Ensure all loan documentation is accurate and complete. Customer Service Provide exceptional service and timely responses to customer requests. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial relationships. Collaborate with retail banking, treasury management, mortgage, and private banking teams to meet customer needs. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred. Formal credit training is preferred. Experience Minimum of 3-7 years of commercial lending, business banking, or credit analysis experience. Proven success in commercial loan production and relationship development. Experience with CRE, C&I, agricultural, and small business lending preferred. Knowledge of the Marshall County and North Alabama business markets strongly preferred. Skills & Knowledge Strong financial statement analysis and commercial underwriting skills. Knowledge of commercial lending regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent business development and networking abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment and sound credit decision-making. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commercial lending systems. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
