Overview Join our dynamic team as a Jr. Mortgage Loan Officer and kickstart your career in the exciting world of mortgage lending! In this energetic role, you will assist in guiding clients through the loan origination process, ensuring smooth transactions from application to closing. Duties Assist clients by gathering necessary financial information and explaining loan options clearly and confidently Use Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and mortgage software to process applications efficiently and accurately Support the loan approval process by coordinating with underwriters and mortgage servicing teams to ensure compliance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and fair housing regulations Conduct basic credit analysis and review borrower documentation to assess eligibility and risk factors Maintain ongoing communication with clients, real estate agents, and internal teams to provide updates and answer questions promptly Ensure all loan processing activities adhere to industry regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and banking compliance standards Support the negotiation of loan terms while upholding ethical standards and client interests Qualifications Must be a licensed Loan Officer Previous experience or familiarity with loan officer responsibilities, retail lending, or mortgage lending is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and willingness to learn! Strong understanding of financial services, banking regulations, and mortgage servicing practices Proficiency with mortgage software, accounting software, and basic math skills including 10 key typing speed Knowledge of industry standards such as FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, fair housing laws, and compliance requirements Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build relationships in financial sales Ability to analyze credit reports, perform risk assessments, and understand commercial lending analysis when applicable Strong negotiation skills combined with attention to detail in loan origination processes Familiarity with escrow processes, contracts, loan processing steps, underwriting procedures, and financial compliance standards Embark on a rewarding career path where your proactive approach, industry knowledge, and dedication will help clients secure their future homes.
