WE Mortgage Is Hiring - Underwriting Department WE Mortgage is expanding our mortgage operations team and is currently hiring experienced professionals at multiple levels for our Underwriting Department .
Open Positions:
Underwriting Manager / Team Lead Senior Mortgage Underwriter FHA / Agency Underwriter Non-QM Underwriter Mortgage Underwriter Junior Underwriter Underwriting Assistant We are looking for talented mortgage professionals who can contribute to a strong, efficient, and quality-focused underwriting operation as WE Mortgage continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
Review residential mortgage loan applications and supporting documentation Analyze borrower income, assets, credit, liabilities, and qualifying ratios Review appraisal, title, insurance, and property documentation Evaluate loan eligibility under applicable agency, government, Non-QM, and investor guidelines Review and clear underwriting conditions Identify documentation deficiencies, inconsistencies, and potential risk factors Communicate conditions and underwriting decisions clearly to brokers and internal teams Work closely with Submission, Processing, Closing, Funding, and Post-Funding teams Maintain accurate loan status and meet established underwriting turn times Support consistent credit quality and investor eligibility Senior /
Experienced Underwriters:
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong knowledge of conventional, FHA, Non-QM, or other residential mortgage products. DE and other applicable underwriting credentials are highly desirable.
Junior Underwriters:
Candidates should have a solid understanding of mortgage documentation and loan analysis and be interested in developing toward full underwriting authority and responsibility.
Underwriting Assistants:
Responsibilities may include organizing underwriting files, reviewing documentation for completeness, preparing files for underwriter review, tracking conditions, updating the LOS (BytePro), and coordinating outstanding items with brokers and internal departments. Manager /
Team Lead Candidates:
We are seeking experienced underwriting leaders who can manage workflow and turn times, supervise and develop underwriting staff, maintain credit quality, establish consistent underwriting procedures, and coordinate effectively with Sales and Operations.
Qualifications:
Residential mortgage lending experience appropriate to the position Wholesale/TPO lending experience is highly desirable Strong knowledge of mortgage documentation and underwriting guidelines Agency, government, and/or Non-QM experience depending on position Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and communication skills Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a production environment LOS (BytePro) and automated underwriting system experience preferred Experience and authority requirements will vary by position.
