$85,000 - $120,000/yr depending on experience, flexibility for the right candidate, plus benefitsType:
Direct Hire Key Responsibilities Loan Evaluation:
Underwrite complex residential mortgage applications (Conventional, Jumbo, FHA, VA) to ensure full compliance with agency (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), investor, and internal company guidelines.Credit & Risk Analysis:
Thoroughly review credit reports, income documentation (including complex self-employed tax returns), asset statements, title reports, and property appraisals.Condition Clearing:
Clear loan conditions in a timely manner, review appraisal rebuttals, and issue final Clear to Close (CTC) approvals.Pipeline Management:
Maintain an active pipeline of files, meeting strict turn-time commitments while maintaining high credit quality.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with Loan Officers, Processors, and Management to resolve underwriting challenges and structure tricky loans effectively. Qualifications & Requirements 3-7+ years of hands-on experience as a Residential Mortgage Underwriter. Deep understanding of Conventional and High-Balance/Jumbo loan underwriting (FHADE / VA SAR
designations are a strong plus). Hands-on experience with Encompass (or similar LOS), DU (Desktop Underwriter), and LPA (Loan Product Advisor).Compensation / Pay
