The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing overnight front desk operations, completing the nightly financial audit, maintaining accurate hotel records, and providing exceptional service to our guests throughout the night. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. This position plays an important role in ensuring a smooth transition into the next business day and maintaining the safety, security, and overall guest satisfaction of the hotel. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests and assist with overnight check-in and check-out procedures while providing courteous and professional service. Complete the nightly audit of hotel accounts, including verifying room charges, payments, adjustments, and other financial transactions for accuracy. Utilize the hotel's Property Management System (PMS), including OPERA , to maintain accurate guest and reservation information. Process reservations, cancellations, modifications, and other guest requests accurately and efficiently. Respond to guest questions, concerns, and requests in a professional and timely manner, demonstrating excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Handle telephone calls and guest communications with professionalism, courtesy, and proper phone etiquette. Monitor hotel security cameras and conduct routine inspections of the property to help maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees. Prepare accurate shift reports, incident reports, and financial documentation for management review. Maintain accurate records and ensure all required overnight procedures and documentation are completed. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established hotel safety and emergency procedures. Communicate important overnight issues, incidents, maintenance concerns, or guest matters to management and the appropriate departments. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area throughout the overnight shift. Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management. Qualifications & Skills Previous hotel front desk, night audit, or hospitality experience preferred. Previous experience with OPERA or a comparable hotel Property Management System (PMS) is highly preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial transactions and hotel records. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills and a professional, courteous demeanor. Ability to handle guest concerns and resolve routine issues calmly and effectively. Professional telephone etiquette and communication skills. Ability to work independently and remain productive during overnight hours. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling guest and hotel information. Familiarity with hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures is preferred. Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus. Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment focused on guest satisfaction is preferred. Schedule & Work Environment This is an overnight position and requires the ability to work night shifts, weekends, holidays, and other dates as scheduled.
