HGU New York is a refined boutique hotel located in Midtown Manhattan. We are seeking a reliable, service-driven, and detail-oriented individual to join our overnight team as a Night Auditor. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a quieter work environment while still delivering exceptional guest service and ensuring the accuracy of daily financial operations. The ideal candidate has a natural passion for hospitality, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with professionalism and integrity. What will you be doing as a Night Auditor? As the Night Auditor, you will serve as the overnight face of the hotel while also performing critical accounting functions to close out the day. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing the highest standards of overall guest service by welcoming late-night arrivals with a warm and friendly demeanor Ensuring the safety and security of guests and the property during overnight hours Performing nightly audit procedures, including balancing and reconciling daily transactions Preparing and distributing end-of-day reports for management Checking guests in and out efficiently in a confident, prompt, and courteous manner Promptly resolving guest requests and concerns with professionalism and care Logging guest requests and maintaining accurate reservation records Collecting and recording guest preferences to enhance personalized service Performing light concierge-style services, including recommendations and arrangements for dining, transportation, entertainment, and local attractions Communicating important guest information and requests to designated departments Reviewing arrivals, noting special requests, and blocking rooms as needed for the following day Posting and adjusting charges to guest folios and processing payments accurately Answering all incoming calls and email correspondence overnight in a timely and professional manner, ensuring complete and accurate information Providing information about the hotel, including room availability, rates, and amenities Managing reservations, including creating, modifying, and reviewing bookings Assisting with guest responses and reviews via extranets for all third-party booking channels Coordinating with Housekeeping and Engineering teams as needed for overnight requests Completing daily communication logs and checklists by the end of each shift
Night Auditor Requirements:
Outstanding commitment to guest service in keeping with the highest hospitality standards Ability to work independently and remain alert during overnight shifts Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate financial reconciliations Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations with professionalism Ability to maintain confidential guest and financial information with integrity Strong time management and organizational skills Excellent math and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a calm, efficient manner Strong written and verbal communication skills Flexible schedule availability including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (additional languages a plus) Basic knowledge of Windows applications, computer systems (hotel systems a plus) Fire and Life Safety Director (FLSD) Certification preferred Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 pounds
