Role Description The Payroll Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Anaheim, CA, responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll for Wincome Hospitality. Responsible for the overall administration, compliance, and execution of multi-entity payroll operations across all company business units. Oversee payroll processing, Workday payroll and system administration, payroll audits, compliance, reporting, payroll accounting coordination, and payroll process improvements while ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery. Administrator to the benefits function to ensure benefit deductions, retirement plan contributions and employee benefit-related payroll transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulationsd recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Payroll Operations
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple entities and pay groups.
- Process regular payrolls, off-cycle payrolls, bonus payments, retroactive pay, and termination checks.
- Review payroll calculations including overtime, premiums, incentives, taxable benefits, garnishments, and deductions.
- Manage payroll funding and payroll processing schedules.
- Ensure benefit deductions, retirement contributions, garnishments, and other employee deductions.
- Review and verify payroll changes to benefit enrollments, life events, and status changes.
- Coordinate with HR team to ensure payroll deductions match employee benefit elections. Workday Payroll Administration
- Serve as system administrator for Workday Payroll.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), payroll parallel testing, and validation efforts for payroll and HCM configuration updates, earnings calculations, and process enhancements.
- Maintain payroll earnings, deductions, taxes, pay groups, and payroll business processes.
- Partner with vendors and consultants to resolve payroll system issues.
- Support testing and validation of payroll-related benefit configurations, deductions, and integrations within Workday.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolved payroll and benefit system issues and improve processes. Benefits & Retirement Coordination
- Support accurate payroll processing for employee benefits and retirement plans.
- Ensure employee deductions, employer contributions, and retirement plan funding are processed correctly.
- Help ensure payroll information is accurately transmitted to benefit and retirement vendors. Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including California wage and hour laws.
- Oversee payroll tax reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Lead payroll-related audits, including financial statement and workers' compensation audits.
- Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Oversee benefit, retirement, and payroll audits by providing accurate data, reporting, and reconciliations. Reporting & Financial Partnership
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and workforce analytics.
- Partner with Finance on payroll accounting, labor reporting, accruals, and budgeting.
- Analyze payroll data and recommend operational improvements.
- Prepare and reconcile reports related to payroll deductions, benefit funding, and retirement plan contributions.
- Analyze payroll and deduction data to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements. Leadership
- Train and mentor payroll and HR staff.
- Enforce company initiative such as managing overtime, meal attestations, etc.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll issues.
- Develop payroll-related SOPs, controls, and best practices.
- Provide guidance to HR staff and managers on payroll deductions, retirement contributions, and employee payroll-related questions.
- Partner with HR and Benefits teams to improve employee communication and understanding of payroll-related deductions and programs. Qualifications
- Business proficiency in Payroll Systems (Workday) is required
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with Workday. CPP preferred, but not required.
- Deep subject matter expertise in regulatory and compliance matters including but not limited to HIPAA, ACA/ PCORI, ERISA, Non-Discrimination Testing, 5500s, and related state/local laws.
- Strong knowledge of multi-entity US payroll, with excellent understanding of California payroll laws and regulations
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets is required
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
- Strong reasoning and math skills.
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university or 5+year's related experience and/or training required
- Must have valid CA Drivers license

Pay:
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
