Director of Payroll Los Angeles , CA Contract Human Resources $75/HR to $85/HR 08/20/2026 Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an International Director of Payroll to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $75.00 to $85.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee domestic and international payroll operations to ensure employees are paid accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable regulations. Manage payroll activities across multiple business units, legal entities, and payroll structures while maintaining operational consistency. Review payroll data, employee records, compensation changes, benefit deductions, and related transactions for accuracy and compliance. Partner with internal teams and external payroll providers to resolve payroll issues, improve processes, and support business requirements. Lead and develop payroll staff while overseeing reporting, audits, compliance initiatives, and process improvement projects.
Requirements:
Extensive payroll management experience supporting large, multi state and international employee populations. Deep expertise in U.S. payroll regulations, tax requirements, wage and hour compliance, and payroll operations. Hands on experience with Workday payroll, human capital management, or workforce administration systems. Previous experience managing payroll processes involving equity compensation, benefits deductions, garnishments, and other complex payroll elements. Ability to oversee multiple payroll cycles, business units, and company codes within a fast paced environment.
Qualifications:
Certified Payroll Professional credential. Strong knowledge of international payroll practices and experience working with global payroll providers. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proven leadership experience managing payroll teams and collaborating effectively across departments.
