Job Description
Payroll Manager Los Angeles , CA Contract Accounting $40/HR to $60/HR 09/01/2026 Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Manager to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $40.00 to $.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee end to end payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable regulations. Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, tax reporting activities, and year end payroll processes. Maintain payroll records, review payroll transactions, and resolve payroll related discrepancies and inquiries. Partner with human resources, finance, and management teams to support payroll operations and process improvements. Lead payroll system administration, reporting initiatives, and ongoing enhancements within Workday.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including payroll management responsibilities. Hands on experience processing multi state payroll in a high volume environment. Strong proficiency with Workday payroll and related workforce management systems. Thorough knowledge of payroll regulations, payroll taxes, wage and hour requirements, and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support employees and collaborate across departments. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines in a fast paced environment. Previous experience leading payroll process improvements, system implementations, and payroll related projects. REF #52852
