In this vital role, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Your expertise will help foster a transparent payroll environment, support HR initiatives, and uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence our financial operations positively and ensure our team members are paid accurately and on time. Responsibilities Manage and oversee all payroll functions, including processing payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paylocity, UltiPro, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other supported payroll software. Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws related to payroll processing, tax law, and governmental accounting standards. Reconcile payroll accounts regularly through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Handle payroll tax calculations, filings, and reporting in accordance with federal and state regulations. Maintain confidentiality of employee data and sensitive financial information while managing data entry tasks accurately within HRIS systems and accounting software. Collaborate with HR teams to ensure accurate recording of time & attendance data from various timekeeping systems. Conduct audits of payroll systems to identify discrepancies or errors in double entry bookkeeping or technical accounting processes. Support the integration of new payroll systems or updates to existing platforms such as Workday or Kronos to optimize efficiency. Provide analysis on payroll costs and assist in budgeting processes related to compensation expenses. Ensure proper documentation of all payroll transactions for internal controls and external audits. Experience Proven experience managing payroll operations within a corporate accounting environment. Extensive knowledge of payroll systems including Workday, Paylocity, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian or similar platforms. Strong understanding of employment & labor law as well as payroll tax regulations at federal, state, and local levels. Demonstrated ability to handle complex accounting tasks such as account reconciliation, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation. Experience working with HRIS systems and time & attendance systems for accurate data collection. Proficiency in spreadsheets and financial software for analysis and reporting purposes. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards related to payroll processing and tax compliance. Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail necessary for handling confidential information securely. Background in finance or accounting with a focus on payroll management or related fields is highly preferred.
