  • Processing:
    Manage payroll system for timely/accurate processing (salaries, hours, leave, overtime).
  • Compliance & Controls:
    Enforce internal controls (reviews, audits, reconciliations); ensure compliance with federal/state laws (DOL, IRS, FRS, college rules) regarding wages, taxes, garnishments, deductions, and retirement.
  • Expert Guidance:
    Serve as payroll system SME, providing support and training to employees, supervisors, and direct reports.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare and submit all required payroll reports (tax, workers' comp, benefits).
  • Systems:
    Collaborate on payroll system configuration, upgrades, and improvements.
  • Customer Service:
    Resolve complex/sensitive payroll inquiries with confidentiality and high-level service. ...

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field + 4 years of professional experience (or 8 years of combined relevant education/experience)
  • Working knowledge of: GAAP, fund accounting, GASB, payroll processes, tax/employment regulations, retirement plans, and unemployment reporting
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant position software programs
