As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Payroll Manager who takes ownership, demonstrates initiative, and is committed to continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be a proactive, results-driven leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and consistently identifies opportunities to enhance processes, drive operational excellence, and deliver exceptional service. This individual will effectively align payroll operations with the organization's evolving goals and strategic objectives while adapting to changing business needs and regulatory requirements. Payroll Responsibilities Manage and oversee all payroll operations for the organization. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the payroll team. Supervise, coach, and develop payroll team members. Lead payroll operations with a proactive, go-getter mindset to anticipate challenges and implement solutions. Align departmental objectives with organizational goals and strategic priorities. Drive efficiency through process enhancements, automation opportunities, and best practices. Adapt payroll operations to support changing business needs and evolving organizational goals. Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll for all employees. Review payroll calculations, deductions, taxes, and adjustments. Approve payroll funding and transmission activities. Monitor payroll exceptions and resolve escalated issues. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Manage payroll tax filings and year-end processing activities. Coordinate internal and external payroll audits. Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls. Serve as payroll system owner and subject matter expert. Lead change management initiatives related to payroll systems, compliance requirements, and organizational growth. Analyze payroll metrics and prepare management reporting. Ensure data integrity between payroll, HRIS, and finance systems. Identify and recommend innovative payroll technologies and process improvements. Collaborate with HR on compensation, benefits, and employee changes. Partner with Finance on payroll accounting, budgeting, and reconciliations. Advise leadership on payroll laws, risks, and operational impacts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred. 5-8+ years of payroll leadership or supervisory experience. Experience leading payroll functions during organizational growth, change, or system implementations. Construction payroll experience preferred. Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms; Paycom experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of payroll laws and regulations. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong process improvement and change management skills. Innovative mindset with a focus on efficiency, automation, and service excellence.
