Job Description
The Payroll Manager oversees timely, accurate and compliant payroll operations. This role manages payroll processing, timekeeping, taxes, benefits deductions, and regulatory compliance while partnering with HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors. You will also lead payroll audits, system enhancements, and staff development. Responsibilities Manage regular, off-cycle, and bonus payrolls with strong controls and accuracy. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Oversee timekeeping, PTO, and attendance data integrity. Support payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and year-end processes, including W?2s. Administer benefits, 401(k), garnishments, and other deductions. Maintain and enhance payroll systems; troubleshoot issues and improve processes. Partner cross-functionally to resolve payroll issues and support reporting needs. Lead, train, and mentor payroll staff; support audits and reconciliations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership of payroll operations and teams Hands-on experience with payroll processing, time and attendance systems, and HRIS platforms (UKG and Workday preferred) Supervisory experience required Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with training, education, and change management Pay range is $50-63/hr depending on experience
